Joey D. Revis

Joey (MSW, LCSW) is a licensed clinical social worker who is passionate about working as a psychotherapist. He grew up in a small rural town in the mountains of western NC, graduated from Warren Wilson College with a bachelor’s degree in social work, and received a Master of Social Work from the University of South Carolina (Columbia). He began his social work career at a local social services agency before moving into the
medical field and working various stints as a hospice social worker, supervisor, and manager for 27 years.
Joey enjoys helping people overcome anxiety, irritability, anger, stress, depression, and other negative emotions utilizing mindfulness and cognitive-behavioral approaches to care while recognizing and building on client strengths. To help clients reduce their problems, Joey draws from a variety of strategic modalities such as
Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT) and Solution-Focused Brief Therapy (SFBT), as well as exposure therapies targeting mental compulsions.
